Meadowsweet is a perfect match for healing ulcers. It is astringent and helps to tighten and tone the lining of the stomach. It is aromatic and helps to support optimal digestion. It also helps to relieve pain (often the worst symptom of ulcers) and it has anti-microbial activity that can address any secondary infection.    It can soothe upset tummies, relieve pain and help to stop excessive diarrhea. Meadowsweet is high in salicylic acid, which is well known for its ability to relieve pain.   Marshmallow root also has the potential to treat a wide range of digestive conditions, including constipation, heartburn, and intestinal colic. Research from 2011 found that marshmallow flower extract demonstrated potential benefits in treating gastric ulcers.

Peppermint is known to reduce the production of gas in the intestine. Today peppermint is recognized by researchers as being effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).  Peppermint may relieve digestive symptoms, such as gas, bloating and indigestion. Studies indicate that peppermint relaxes your digestive system and may ease pain. It also prevents smooth muscles from contracting, which could relieve spasms in your gut.  Anise also helps improve digestion, alleviate cramps and reduce nausea. Recent studies have shown that slippery elm bark can help treat the symptoms associated with inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Ginger has a very long history of use in various forms of traditional and alternative medicine. It’s been used to aid digestion, reduce nausea, and help fight the flu and common cold, to name a few of its purposes.  Ginger is high in gingerol, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.  Ginger appears to be highly effective against nausea.  Chronic indigestion is characterized by recurrent pain and discomfort in the upper part of the stomach.  Ginger appears to speed up emptying of the stomach, which can be beneficial for people with indigestion and related stomach discomfort.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Take 15 Drops three times per day in a glass of water.  For babies 0 – 12 months give 5 drops 3 times per day.  For teething apply directly onto the gums.
